The Importance of Inner Reflection
Inner reflection gives us the opportunity to introspect our virtues and vices, our decisions and our actions based on those decisions.
According to Master Choa Kok Sui, inner reflection is a practice similar to what happens at the moment of death. This is when the soul reviews its life at the end of its journey.
If we practice inner reflection daily, it reduces the time the soul has to spend on it at the time of departure.
So, for example, if you have done something you shouldn’t have done, like saying something hurtful, you have behaved inappropriately or dishonestly with someone but you ignore it, it will not go away. Our consciousness will be aware of it. Therefore, it is important that we acknowledge it, decide not to do it again, and make a firm resolution to do the right thing when we are faced with a similar situation in the future. This must be manifested in thoughts, words, emotions, and actions by practicing the right thoughts, saying the right words, generating the right emotions, and then acting appropriately.
According to the teachings, at the time of death, our soul must review all the good and bad things it has done during its life and extract the lessons from its actions. It knows that when it reincarnates, it must encounter the same people with whom lessons remain to be learned and the same situations that remain unresolved. However, when the soul reincarnates, it forgets this and the cycle of learning our lessons continues.
In order to help us get out of this rut and ultimately free our souls from these karmic bonds, the practice of inner reflection is an important part of Master Choa Kok Sui’s teachings. Regular practice of inner reflection helps to develop our honesty with ourselves and our ability to listen to our intuitive voice/higher soul.
How to do inner reflection?
The easiest way to start your inner reflection journey is to set aside some time each evening.
Spend no more than 10 minutes before going to sleep each night
Review your entire day: your interactions, thoughts, and behaviors
Make a mental note of what went wrong
Mentally correct it and make a firm resolution to change your thoughts and actions with that person/people, or in that situation
Mentally replay the same event with your positive adjustments
Decide to behave fairly and appropriately when faced with a similar situation in the future
